Greetings from my attic in the Blue Mountains, my friends!
2025 REFLECTIONS and SEASON’S GREETINGS
I know it’s difficult to believe that another year is coming to a close. The relentless march of time affects us all … Yet when we have a closer look, we find that a lot has been achieved.
One of the highlights of this year was our Grand Literary Anniversary Tour ( April, May and June) which took us on an epic journey through Europe from Athens to Barcelona and beyond to meet readers, and revisit some of the iconic locations featured in the Jack Rogan Mysteries Series. Many of you would have shared this journey with me on Facebook and in my newsletters.
Meeting readers in Venice
So much for 2025. Now, let me tell you what you can expect in the year to come:
As most of you would already know, the next book in the series is nearing completion and will be ready for publication in the new year. The reason it has taken a lot longer to write this novel is due to the challenging subject matter and locations featured in this epic Jack Rogan adventure set in Japan.
To pique your interest I would now like to announce the title of the new book together with a brief ‘literary action snapshot’ to give you a glimpse of things to come:
First, the title: ” The Cursed Sword of Muramasa.”
A title promising mystery, intrigue, and lots of history and nail-biting adventure.

A desperate race against time.
When celebrated author and daring adventurer Jack Rogan visits his close friend Tristan—a gifted psychic—at an ancient Japanese temple, he is drawn into an age-old family feud steeped in blood and betrayal. In a land once ruled by ruthless Shoguns, Samurai, and warrior monks, Jack discovers a turbulent history of clan rivalries and ambition that has caused untold misery, death, and despair.
Joined by Sophie Ritter, a renowned Austrian conductor, and Abbot Ikkyu, the enigmatic leader of a Buddhist monastery cloaked in dark secrets, Jack plunges into a perilous journey through Japan’s hidden realms. From the intensity of sumo wrestling to the deadly shadows of the secretive Yakuza, he encounters an alien world where loyalty and friendship are tested to their limits.
As Jack navigates this dangerous path, he must follow his breadcrumbs of destiny or face dire consequences. Will he be able to resolve an ancient family rivalry and protect those he loves, or will the forces of evil overpower him, shattering the hopes of an ancient culture under mortal threat, desperately clinging to its cherished beliefs?
When you dive into this gripping tale of intrigue and nail-biting adventure, and discover the indomitable spirit of a people yearning for freedom and peace, you will be rewarded with a reading experience that resonates long after you’ve turned the last page.
As you can see, there’s plenty to look forward to in 2026. I am confident that you will find Jack’s next thrilling adventure both exciting and entertaining, and enjoy the rich tapestry of Japanese history and culture as you explore the plot and meet the colourful characters featured in the book.
