The publishing landscape has gone through dramatic changes and self-publishing has become a viable, respected alternative to yesterday’s ‘traditional’ publishing. As part of Adult Learners Week the Library will run a free workshop that explores the processes around self – publishing. The workshop will be led by Gabriel Farago, who has self-published two works of fiction,

books

‘The Disappearance of Anna Popov’ and ‘The Empress Holds the Key’ and is set to self-publish his third book this year.

Gabriel believes that “Self-publishing isn’t for everyone, and may not suit you. It’s by no means an easy road to travel and requires a considerable amount of hard work, risk-taking, determination, grit, resources and learning many new and often unfamiliar skills. “

In this workshop Gabriel will go through some of these processes and skills, including how to polish your manuscript, book production and design, marketing, promotion and how to ‘put it all together’. This workshop will be ideal for anyone interested in the self-publishing phenomenon. Gabriel will be an enthusiastic and supportive guide for those who are hoping to embark on this journey themselves.
